HOW IT WORKS
-
Fill out our Consignment Request form with a list of the items you’d like to consign. These items should be in season, new, like-new or excellent condition, clean and neatly folded in a re-usable shopping bag (like those found at Home Goods etc, no garbage bags please). We need to keep the bag, so especially if it’s your first time consigning, consider bringing a second bag to bring home any rejected items.
-
We will then reply to your request via email with available appointment times.
-
After you’ve made an appointment, we ask that you fill out our Consignment Agreement. Please fill it out before you come for your appointment or we will not be able to make you an account.
-
You’ll come in for your appointment; it should take about 15 minutes. We ask that you let us look through your items. This is a good time to shop around a little! We will carefully select items based on their condition, style, desirability of brand, and season. Please understand that sometimes there may be items that we decline or will not be able to sell.
-
On your Start Date (within a week, sometimes two, of your drop off) you’ll receive an email from us with a copy of your Consignment Agreement, a list of your items with their initial prices listed and End Date. Please keep track of your End Date as after that date your items will Expire and become property of wish.
-
Set it and forget it! Keep track of your End Date, and check on your account as often or infrequently as you like. Shop with your store credit at any time and receive 10% off your purchase or request to be paid out by the 5th of the month to receive a check on the 15th of the month. (More details on this can be found in your Consignment Agreement)
-
As your End Date approaches, send us an email to request your unsold items be returned to you. Pick these items up within 30 days of your End Date.
-
Most other questions you may have about consigning can be found here and here.
Please note that we do have a consignment limit per appointment.
1 bag for new consignors | 2 bags for existing consignors
(we really like the re-usable shoppers from Home Goods etc)
Please understand that if you fill this form out when we are full and not accepting requests, your information will go to our junk folder. Please wait until we are accepting appointments for the next season and fill out the form in full.
THIS FORM WORKS BEST IS DESKTOP VIEW.
Appointment Requests start for Spring : March 17
CONSIGNMENT FAQ
How do I consign?
What do you take?
We take women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories in new, like-new or excellent condition. We frequently say “from J.Crew to Chanel” but you can find a specific list below. If you shop at wish, it’s likely that you are familiar with the style, quality, condition and brands we accept. Stop in to see, or check out our social media.
What don’t you take?
We don’t take designer replicas or inauthentic designer goods. (All items are authenticated prior to listing them for sale. Wish may want to have an existing relationship with a consignor before accepting highly replicated items such as designer handbags. Wish may also choose to have an item authenticated by a 3rd party. The cost of this authentication will be deducted from the consignor’s account upon the sale of the item.)
Other categories we don’t usually accept are: suits, bridesmaid, wedding gowns, or juniors clothing. Most menswear and children’s items are also rejected although we do have small section of those for sale in our store.
Do you clean or Dry-Clean my items after I drop them off?
The short answer: no. We ask that all items come to us clean and hanger ready. In light of Covid-19, we DO steam all items between drop off and putting them out on the floor for sale with our Jiffy Steamer. To see our other Covid-19 policies click here. To read more about steam and Covid-19, take a look at this article from CNN.
How do I check my account?
Text, call, email, DM on social media or stop in!
Can I ship items to wish for consignment?
Yes! We proudly have consignors all over! Before you ship your items please make sure you've filled out our request form, and subsequently our consignment agreement. Ship your items, with tracking, to Wish (for consignment), 80 Thames St, Newport RI 02840. Please share tracking details with us via email so we know when to expect your items. Items consigned via mail that are rejected or do not sell are not currently eligible for return to the consignor unless you pick them up in person within 30 days of the End Date (same as our standard consignment policy regarding Expired Items). If you have specific questions about this policy or your items, please let us know. To have a better idea if an item will be accepted for consignment, consider sending us photos of your items for consideration in addition to your Consignment Request.
How do you set prices?
Prices are set based on comparative items, condition, original value, and market prices. Keep in mind that with deeper discounts being taken at department stores and retailers (e.g. TJ Maxx, Nordstrom Rack, etc.) for NEW items, consigned items must be competitively priced under those price points.
What happens to expired items?
Items left at wish 30 days after their End Date become Expired and therefore property of wish. Some items are donated and some are stored.
What if I forget to request my unsold items? Or forget to come pick up my unsold items?
Forgotten or un-requested items become the property of wish and unfortunately we usually can’t get them back to you as they’ve most likely been donated. Please understand that we don’t have unlimited storage to hang onto items left longer than 30 days. Stay in touch with us, we know many of our consignors split their time in another location or are just plain busy. Although we won't notify you if you haven't picked up, we are happy to hear from you if you're trying to get here and things aren't going to plan.
